Legend of Zelda: Princess Zelda (Windwaker) Inspired Look

Nancy, the lovely lady who runs The Dark Side of Beauty, has chosen Legend of Zelda: Windwaker as the theme for August.  This week's challenge was to create a look inspired by Princess Zelda.

The look I decided to create played off the bright magenta pink of Zelda's jewelry and bodice of her dress, the light pinkish lavender of the skirt, her blue eyeshadow, her gold crown, and the white hair pieces.

Read on to find out what products I used & to see more photos :)

**the contrast & vibrancy were upped on this due to the colors being slightly washed out in the original photo**

Products used:
Face:

  • The All Natural Face Foundation/Concealer in Porcelain Kissed by Honey
  • The All Natural Face Vegan Foundation in Porcelain Kissed by Honey
  • elf Translucent Mattifying Powder
  • Love & Beauty Eyebrow Kit
  • Maybelline Great Lash clear mascara
  • tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed
  • Shiro Cosmetics Mineral Highlight in Curaga
Eyes:
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • Pink eyeshadows: Shiro Cosmetic pigments in Wildflowers, Ever In Your Favor, Porygon (pinks), Squirtle (blue), Triforce (gold), Weepinbell (yellow), Finkelstein (shimmery white)
  • Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner
  • tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara
  • Benefit BAD Gal Lash mascara
Lips:
  • Yes to Carrots C Me Blush Lip Tint in Sunset Pink
  • Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Luster in Sweet

My intention was to make the eyes the focus of the look. Zelda has clear, bright porcelain skin, so I focused my foundation on looking flawless but natural. I used a bronze-toned blush applied with a light hand, which I then topped with some powder foundation for a simple light flush of color.  The lips I kept natural but sweet. The slate was kept clean for the eyes to stand out.  I really quite enjoy the results, though for the next challenge, I plan to step out of my comfort zone more in terms of eyeshadow application!

As a note, I upped the vibrancy and saturation of the first two photos in this post, as the sun washed the colors out a bit.  The other two photos used were not edited except for some cropping.

For the other challenges in the series, make sure to check out Nancy's post with all the info here!
