Humongous Shiro Post Coming Soon...

There's going to be tons of swatches up in here!  Look out!

Geek Chic Cosmetics Haul & Swatches!

I received my Black Friday order from Geek Chic Cosmetics today!  They were offering 30% off of all items (excluding samples) all weekend, so I went ahead and placed my first order from them.  I had originally found them because they do have a few eyes shadows based off The Legend of Zelda, but I actually didn't end up ordering those shadows (yet...).  Here's my order!

(From L-R: Inevitable Betrayal, Forest, Companion Cube, Tomboy Princess, Princess in Distress, Newb)

I ordered 4 full-sized eye shadows and a full-sized Joystick.  I received a sample eye shadow and their business card with three different codes to use on future orders on their site.  All full-sized jars come shrink wrapped with an easy tab to tear off the plastic.  Definitely a great thing to use for mineral eye shadows!  Inside the jars is a sifter that is covered with a sticker to further prevent any leakage during shipping.  Everything was sent in a small bubble mailer and arrived safely!

Upon first look, I was already impressed with the packaging, labels for the different collections, and the colors before even swatching them.  Every eye shadow has the name of the color, the ingredients, and whether the color is lip safe printed on the bottom of the jar.
Let me know if you want close-ups of the jars/ingredients.  They are also posted on Geek Chic's website.

Now onto swatches!  All swatches are dry swatches (no primer/base/etc).

Newb:  A sheer pale pink that can be built up to desired opacity.
Tomboy Princess: A pale, almost pastel yellow.
Princess in Distress:  A shimmery light peach.
Forest: A "forest" green.  Can be built up to a darker green.
Inevitable Betrayal: A dark forest green with gold sparkle.
Companion Cube:  A bright, almost neon pink with some silver shimmer.

Thoughts on the colors...  I was actually expecting Newb to wash out my lips and make them blend into my light skin tone (in a scary way), but it adds a subtle pink to my lips and looks great! [I will post lip swatches soon.]  I thought Tomboy Princess would be a slightly more bold yellow, but I'm quite satisfied it's a more subtle yellow.  Now Princess in Distress was definitely the opposite... the swatch from the website looked like a nice baby pink, but this shadow is definitely peach! (I mean, it fits with Princess Peach's name, but thought it would be more pink).  It may change when I use it on my lids - will update!  Forest and Inevitable Betrayal are gorgeous greens to add to my collection - not much else to say about those.  And I really love Companion Cube, and I'm glad I received it as my sample.  It's such a gorgeous bright pink - I've been looking for a color like this!

Here's a lip swatch of Newb:
Overall, a very nice wash of color that compliments my already pigmented lips.

Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this order.  All of the eye shadows and lip products are reasonably priced, and for their price are great quality.  The shadows are very pigmented even without a primer.  I love the Joystick - it applies smoothly and gives me a subtle but complimentary wash of color.  The wait time was a little long, but that's because they receive a humongous volume of orders in a short amount of time, and they kept all customers up-to-date on shipping status on their Facebook page.  They have great customer service and fantastic products, and I'm looking forward to placing another order with them soon!
